Event Discovery and Booking Platform With Organizer Tools
Event organizers juggle listings, ticket limits, image assets, and attendee lists across email threads and spreadsheets, while attendees struggle to find and book events in one place. This project builds a two-sided platform that serves both audiences: a discovery and booking experience for users and a management workspace for organizers. The intern develops the platform on an Express and Node.js backend with MongoDB, implementing authentication and role-based access so organizers and attendees get distinct capabilities. Organizers create and edit events, upload promotional images through secure file handling, and track bookings from a dedicated dashboard; attendees browse and search events, book places, and manage their reservations. The frontend, built with Next.js, React, and TypeScript and styled with Tailwind CSS, ties these flows together with responsive, intuitive interfaces. The project mirrors how real marketplace products are structured, and finishing it demonstrates the intern can model two user roles cleanly, handle user-generated media safely, and ship a complete booking workflow from database documents to production-quality UI.
