B2B Lead Generation Playbook
Almost every small business-to-business company in India runs into the same quiet crisis: the founder's personal network eventually runs dry. A facility services firm in Gurugram or a corporate gifting studio in Mumbai can deliver excellent work, yet stall at fifteen clients because nobody on the team knows how to find the next fifty in a repeatable way. Lead generation agencies charge lakhs for retainers that young companies cannot afford, so the ability to build a lead engine in-house using only free tools is a genuinely valuable business skill.
The intern builds a complete lead generation playbook for BrightDesk Facility Services, a fictional Gurugram company that sells housekeeping and pantry management contracts to offices. Working in google-sheets, they research and assemble a database of 100 qualified prospect companies drawn entirely from public sources, design a weighted 0-to-100 lead scoring model powered by formulas, map four sourcing channels using linkedin and public business directories, and write the whole method up as a 12-to-15 page playbook in google-docs that a brand-new sales hire could follow from day one.
Completing the project takes the intern through ideal customer profiling, prospect research, data hygiene, and persuasive business writing, which are exactly the skills B2B sales and business development teams screen for in placement interviews. The finished playbook and database work as strong portfolio artefacts because they demonstrate process thinking and follow-through rather than just claims on a resume.
