Cold Outreach Campaign Design & Scripts

Added Jul 2026 3 design docs

Cold outreach has a terrible reputation in India because most of it deserves one: copy-pasted messages that open with 'Dear Sir/Madam', pitch in the first line, and get deleted in three seconds. Yet for a small agency or startup with no ad budget, a well-crafted outreach campaign is often the only realistic way to reach its first paying clients. The difference between spam and a conversation starter is research, sequencing, and writing that respects the reader's time, and those are learnable crafts.

The intern designs a complete cold outreach campaign for Kaizen Web Studio, a fictional three-person Jaipur agency that builds websites for boutique hotels and homestays in Rajasthan. They write a three-touch email sequence, linkedin connection and follow-up scripts, and a phone script with an objection-handling bank, all drafted in google-docs; build a campaign tracker in google-sheets with reply-rate and meeting-rate formulas; design an A/B test plan for subject lines; and produce a one-page visual campaign summary in canva. Nothing is ever actually sent, so the work stays entirely within research and writing.

By the end, the intern can segment an audience, personalise at scale without sounding robotic, structure a multi-step campaign, and define the metrics that tell a team whether outreach is working. These are day-one responsibilities in SDR, business development, and founder's office roles, and the finished kit reads like real work experience in an interview portfolio.

Partnership Proposal Kit

Small Indian service businesses grow fastest when they borrow somebody else's audience. A tiffin service does not need to advertise to every hostel resident in the city if it can sign one deal with the warden of a 90-bed PG. Yet most owners never get there, because a partnership conversation needs paperwork most small firms simply do not have: a clear offer, a written split, and a document the other side can show their boss. The founder ends up pitching over WhatsApp, the partner asks for something in writing, and the deal quietly dies. The intern builds the missing paperwork as a complete partnership kit for Ghar Ka Tiffin, a fictional Nagpur home-style tiffin service with 180 subscribers at ₹2,400 a month that wants to reach 400 without spending on ads. Working in google-sheets they map 24 candidate partners across three archetypes and score each on fit, then design three partnership models and a value-exchange calculator that shows what both sides earn. In canva they produce three model one-pagers and a ten-slide proposal deck with swappable partner slides, and in google-docs they write the fill-in proposal template, a plain-language two-page term sheet, and a four-step outreach sequence for linkedin, email and in-person approaches. The project builds skill in partner prospecting, commercial structuring, value articulation, and business writing that survives being forwarded to someone senior. Alliance and channel roles across startups, edtech and FMCG distribution hire exactly for this, and a kit that a real founder could open and use tomorrow demonstrates commercial judgement in a way no coursework does.

Sales Funnel Design for a Coaching Institute

Every coaching institute in a tier-two Indian city collects far more interest than it converts. Parents call, students walk in after school, a hoarding near the bus stop brings twenty enquiries in a week, and then almost all of it evaporates because nobody follows up in any organised way. The names sit in a diary, the counsellor remembers the ones who seemed serious, and the rest quietly enrol somewhere that called them back. The institute concludes it needs more advertising, when what it actually needs is a funnel: a defined path from first contact to paid admission with a named action at every step. The intern designs that funnel end to end for Sankalp Study Circle, a fictional CUET and CLAT coaching centre in Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur that turned 300 enquiries into 42 admissions last season. They map a seven-stage funnel as a one-page blueprint in canva, build the enquiry capture form in google-forms with qualification fields and automatic routing, write a five-touch follow-up sequence and a 90-second counsellor call script in google-docs, produce six objection-handling cards, and build a funnel tracker in google-sheets that calculates stage-to-stage conversion, cost per admission, and where the biggest leak sits. The project teaches funnel thinking, lead qualification, conversion arithmetic, and persuasive but honest sales copy, which are the daily work of inside sales, admissions, and growth roles across edtech and services. Because the deliverables are operational rather than theoretical, the intern finishes with a system a real institute could switch on in a week, which is a far stronger interview artefact than a marketing essay.

B2B Lead Generation Playbook

Almost every small business-to-business company in India runs into the same quiet crisis: the founder's personal network eventually runs dry. A facility services firm in Gurugram or a corporate gifting studio in Mumbai can deliver excellent work, yet stall at fifteen clients because nobody on the team knows how to find the next fifty in a repeatable way. Lead generation agencies charge lakhs for retainers that young companies cannot afford, so the ability to build a lead engine in-house using only free tools is a genuinely valuable business skill. The intern builds a complete lead generation playbook for BrightDesk Facility Services, a fictional Gurugram company that sells housekeeping and pantry management contracts to offices. Working in google-sheets, they research and assemble a database of 100 qualified prospect companies drawn entirely from public sources, design a weighted 0-to-100 lead scoring model powered by formulas, map four sourcing channels using linkedin and public business directories, and write the whole method up as a 12-to-15 page playbook in google-docs that a brand-new sales hire could follow from day one. Completing the project takes the intern through ideal customer profiling, prospect research, data hygiene, and persuasive business writing, which are exactly the skills B2B sales and business development teams screen for in placement interviews. The finished playbook and database work as strong portfolio artefacts because they demonstrate process thinking and follow-through rather than just claims on a resume.
